Now in its 27th year, the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition recognizes the exceptional work of North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their institutional, residential and commercial spaces. 

The competition is open to all North American architects, interior designers and students. Domestic and international new construction and renovation projects completed between January 2015 and January 2020 are eligible for entry in the residential, commercial and institutional categories. Students must be enrolled at an accredited university in North America to be eligible.

  • $2,000 cash prize and expense-paid trips to New Orleans and Cersaie* (Bologna, Italy) for built project winners

The prize package for winners of the built project categories includes $2,000, plus a 5-day CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy to attend Cersaie, the world’s largest exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings.

In addition to special appointments on the show floor, the delegation will also enjoy the world-renowned cuisine of Bologna, cultural tours in the region, and the chance to visit a tile factory to see tile production firsthand.

The built project category winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New Orleans for Coverings – North America's preeminent event for the ceramic tile and natural stone industry. During the Ceramics of Italy press conference, the winners will get a chance to present their projects in front of a large audience of journalists, manufacturers and tile industry professionals.
